Vall Hebron Spine Research Unit (VHSRU) is a growing multidisciplinary group of professionals devoted to the study of complex spinal disorders. VHSRU is formed by 6 surgeons and 5 researchers organized in 5 different research lines: Pediatric and Adolescent Spinal Deformity, Adult Spinal Deformity, Spinal Cord Injuries in trauma, Myelopathy and Tumors. VHSRU mission and main objective is to improve the treatment (mainly surgical), health care and, therefore, the quality of life of patients affected by spinal pathologies. During 2025, we published a total of 36 new manuscripts and were nominated for 6 research awards in national and international meetings. We have been involved as coordinator or collaborator in 48 funded research projects (16 competitive and 32 non-competitive). All these projects allowed us to establish new synergies with other research centers and universities. We hope to maintain and expand this network in the future.
