The main research field of our group is pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance, with a special focus on the patterns of medicines utilization, effectiveness and adverse effects in real world.
The group is a partner of the European Consortium “EU PE&PV Network” and together with the Preventive medicine group is a member of the VAccine monitoring Collaboration for Europe network for the study the safety and efficacy of vaccines in Europe. The activity was focused on the ROC19 project: use of target trial emulation for regulatory decisions, for which we are co-leaders of WP1. We finalised our participation in the “Genomics of COVID-19 vaccine-induced GBS, VITT/TTS and miocarditis/pericarditis” project. A grant from ISCIII Call AES 2025 on opioids use for non-oncologic chronic pain and its impact in the health system was obtained.
The international training activities continued through our participation in the European master of pharmacoepidemiology and hosting fellow researchers.

Brief: The main objective was to share the results of the research and highlight the value of creating multidisciplinary teams for medication review in institutionalized patients. The course aimed to provide participants with the ability to identify tools that support the medication review process and to understand the importance of person-centered, multidisciplinary interventions. The program included the presentation of a research project and its results, group reflection, sessions on self-care and the hidden curriculum, and a closing session. The course followed a theoretical–practical, deliberative methodology that combined foundational concepts with real-life situations and participants’ experiences to contextualize, analyze, and transform information into knowledge through guided discussion and reflection.
