In 2025, our group led translational research in respiratory medicine, integrating mechanistic discoveries, multi-omics, and innovation into clinical practice. We ranked among the top five groups within CIBERES (Instituto de Salud Carlos III) and maintained active roles in ERN, XARTEC, XUEC, and as a CSUR-accredited national reference center. Our research addressed major respiratory diseases, including environmental conditions, severe asthma, lung transplantation, COPD, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension, sleep disorders, respiratory infections, and post-COVID sequelae. We contributed to major European consortia (E-PHOCAS, ECRAID-Base) and advanced key priorities: early diagnosis and precision medicine through biomarkers and multi-omics; digital health via AI tools such as mScreenSleep; sustainable healthcare through projects like EXIMIOUS, EXPOSIM, and GreenSelfO2; and innovation via public–private collaborations supporting personalized therapies.
